About Nico Martini
Nico Martini’s background in directing, acting, and producing gives him a collaborative edge with any project he takes on from conception to execution. Martini has a resume is as diverse as he is, including directing productions Off-Broadway and U.S. touring companies, writing and directing several short films that circulated through various film festivals, and has twice directed traffic. His production of David Mamet’s Oleanna earned him an Excellence in Directing Award from the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival and, in 2005, was one of 50 young American directors selected to join the Lincoln Center Director's Lab.
Martini holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Performance from the University of Texas at Dallas and is currently working toward his Master of Arts in Emerging Media and Communications. UTD has developed this new degree program in a continuing effort to remain ahead of the curve in trends at the intersection of creativity and technology and focuses on new forms of Internet based design and meta-media content development. Beyond introducing students to the cutting edge of emerging media technologies and practices, the program also provides a solid foundation built on collaborative skills, theoretical breadth, historical context, and ethical sensitivity. This initiative aims to build on that base and create a new wave of next generation new media designers, content developers, writers, and mobile and web entrepreneurs and artists.
Martini’s work ethic consistently reflects his passion for art and communication. He has initiated interactive marketing campaigns for various non-profits in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area, including Shakespeare Dallas, Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, and New Beginning Center. He has successfully launched viral marketing campaigns for several bands, films, and various theatrical productions, and promoted theater festivals in New York, Austin and Dallas.
Nico is keenly aware of
the dynamic shift in digital media ripe for artists to take full advantage of
and explore. It is, in fact, imperative
for visibility, discovery, and professional progress. The definitive purpose of
art is the creation of a collective experience.
He believes in the connections made exclusively through the dimensions
of artistic creativity, regardless of the canvas chosen for expression and in
the potential alive today thanks to the constant advancement of social
technologies.
“There is an opportunity in the field of new media for artists to become their own advocate and control their own image like never before. Artists are inherently rooted in self promotion. With the progression of digital content, the ability to discover and deliver an artist’s exact vision is more feasible than ever. Hypeworthy is poised to ease this transition between artist and vision,” said Martini.

She understands the struggles facing artists today, and has worked with internationally-renowned musicians, including Skip Heller, Snarky Puppy, Robert Gomez, and UNT’s famed One O’Clock lab band. Her pop culture criticisms have garnered attention from the Pop Culture Association of America and she was named Author to Watch by the Elder and Leemaur publishing house.
In 2007, Crisman joined the Obama Dallas grassroots campaign where she was appointed to the Executive Leadership Council and helped manage and develop new media-based strategies designed to effectively organize the hundreds of active volunteers. Since the election, Crisman has been overseeing the social media strategy and training for the Progressive Center of Dallas (an Organizing for America affiliate).
Crisman’s blog initially caught the eye of The Diffusion Group’s president and principal analyst, Michael Greeson. She was offered a position with the prestigious digital media research firm where she serves as Social Technology Consultant.
