Why Won't She Stop Talking About SocialMedian?
If you've been familiar with me for at least 27 minutes, you're likely aware of my absolute infatuation with SocialMedian- a brilliant community of news junkies wildly clipping stories, debating issues of politics, business, and tech, and having a general rip-roaring good time.
All right, maybe you don't get as giddy about current events as I do, but I won't apologize for my behavior because it's actually working out for me quite well, thank you very much. Furthermore there are plenty of others like me clipping and commenting as we speak, and I can't wait to get back and see what the scuttlebutt is tonight.
Just so you're not calling Beta-come-Lately on me, I started messing about with SocialMedian while it was in Alpha earlier this year (hem hem). I was test driving several new communities at the time (mostly through Louis Gray's suggestions) and not many of them really made it to my Firefox Speed dial. For whatever reason I found myself quickly addicted to this particular community, likely due in part to CEO Jason Goldberg (he is delightful), who made me feel immediately engaged in his little project (his charming Tweets frequently send me into geek girl tizzies). Not to mention the fact that I started getting email notifications declaring that someone had "identified me as a Newsmaker." Nice touch. I injected that promptly into my ego and went on a series of following-frenzies that continue to this day.
As is key in the beginning stages of any success, the SocialMedian team are brilliant listeners. They are always looking for feedback on community features and services, and are super helpful when little glitches arise (I've encountered precisely one, which was chivalrously and promptly sorted out).
I've gotten this far into my post and I realize I've talked about Jason Goldberg the last three posts, and I've likely creeped the poor guy out. Hmmm. Sorry, Jason, I promise I'm not stalking you, I just really appreciate your work.
What about you? Have you found yourself oddly fascinated by one community over another? Do you feel edified and a little smarter after you spend time online? Do your conversations have varying degrees of depth? Are you building relationships with your friends and followers? Am I asking too many questions?

Sounds like I gave you more than one option, and you found the one you liked! Good to hear it. Socialmedian and Jason in particular have done a great job.

Don't worry about writing about socialmedian too much. I have actually been trying to find more ways to talk about it because you can only say "use this service" so many times. I need another angle. I think Louis writes about it every 2 weeks.

Thanks, Louis! I've traced back so much of my current online activity to your suggestions, it's almost silly. You have a great eye for fantastic services.
Good point, Rob. And I've yet to receive a restraining order, so I'll just keep cheering along.

Socialmedian is great. I made some newsnetworks and I am amazed at the power of this idea. A totally different site with the web of the future. Nice post. I loved your video too!
